Police arrest man for pulling a gun during altercation

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Police in Rapid City say an altercation between a few people resulted in the display of a gun.

Police were called to the Budget Inn Motel Tuesday afternoon for a report of a person threatening others with a gun.

Police spokesman Brendyn Medina says 19-year-old Anthony Byrd of Rapid City allegedly pulled a rifle out during an altercation.

A search warrant was executed at Byrd’s residence, and police say they found the gun involved

Byrd was arrested for aggravated assault and booked into the Pennington County Jail.

No injuries were reported from Tuesday’s altercation.
