Arlo James (Buck) Thybo left this world on Nov. 10 2017, on Veterans Day, after a battle with cancer. Buck was born in 1933 to James and Mary (Wicks) Thybo and grew up ranching in the Slim Buttes in Harding County, SD. He attended grade school just over the hill from his house. He graduated from Nisland High School, where he lived with Bud and Jean Sorenson.

Buck was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Infantry from 1954-1956. He came back to the Thybo ranch, and married Karen Steele (who passed away in 1976). He continued to ranch, breed quarter horses, and broke many horses.

He enjoyed loading up most Sundays and going to the area team ropings. Buck was known for his good heart, teasing, kidding and good humor. He enjoyed his friends and having a good drink and a good time. He had many talents, he was an auctioneer, pilot, bar owner, truck driver besides ranching. He loved a good bucking horse.

He had survived by his 4 children; Kay Kornemann, Cal (Gail) Thybo, James (Rhonda) Thybo, Oddette Lambert, and 13 grandchildren. Tresea, Ty, Ashley Thybo, Wacey, Wade Kornemann, Trever, Tate, Jesse Thybo, Joey Thybo, Amanda Mason, Pete Stocker, Karen and Katie Lambert. 5 Great Grand Children. Aonna, Brayden, Caydence, Dannica Mason, and Ryder Kornemann; and one sister Marie (James) Donahue.

He was preceded in death by his wife Karen. Parents James and Mary Thybo. 2 sisters Marge Wulf, Elaine Larson.

There will be a time of sharing on Monday, 7:00 p.m., November 13, 2017 at Bezler's Cadillac Ranch.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November14, 2017 at the Little Dane Church near St. Onge, SD.
