Billy H. Caldwell Jr., 58, passed away January 7, 2018 in Rapid City.

On February 25, 1959 in Powell, WY, Billy Houston Caldwell Jr. was born to Billy Caldwell Sr. and his wife, Berdell (Peters) Caldwell. Billy Jr.came into the world weighing 9lbs. and was 22 inches long,  was always large and in charge!

Bill lived in various places but finally settled down in Rapid City, SD where he met his wife Patti Ann McKenna, they were married on May 18, 1981 and started a family that bloomed into three children and four grandchildren.

Bill was well known for his hard work ethic and his willingness to help anyone he could. He worked several jobs such as, Diamond Vogel and the oil rigs before starting his own car dealership, The Car Connection, which later became Select Auto Sales. In 2014, he became the LS Tractor dealership in Rapid City.

Bill exceled in everything he did, always putting 100% into everything. Whether it was working on a car or dressing up as Santa and making sure everyone got a candy cane for Christmas. Most importantly, Bill loved his family and friends and made that clear by being there for them when times were tough.

Besides work, Bill was an outdoors man. Anything under the sun was fun and that including fishing, 4 wheeling, fishing, shooting, boating, and don’t forget about, fishing. If it was sunny out, Bill was always out doing something fun and always loved to be around friends.

Bill was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer on December 8, 2015. Even then, Bill didn’t give up and he gave it hell! On January 7, 2018, Bill passed away. He was not alone, he was surrounded by family and friends until the very end.

Bill is survived by his wife, Patti Caldwell; daughter, Andrea Cornet; sons, Billy Caldwell and Christopher Caldwell; four grandchildren (fifth one due in February); sister, Kristi Perez; Kristi’s three children and her granddaughter; and his dog, Paws.
