SARATOGA, Wyo. - An afternoon fire that began at the sawmill in Saratoga, Wyoming continues to burn Monday night.

Firefighters from around the area are battling the blaze, which is being fanned by strong winds.

The fire reportedly started behind the mill, in an area where wood chips and logs are stored.

KTGA radio reports the fire continued to burn actively Monday night, and law enforcement was shutting down roads in the area so firefighters could have access in and out of the fire.

The highway patrol was also encouraging people not to stop along Highway 130 to look at the fire.

The area's electric utility, Carbon Power and Light, says they were asked to deenergize the power lines in the area for safety reasons. That led to a power outage for homeowners in the area as well.

There was no early word on the cause of the fire.
