Jimmy Mike Clark, age 63, of Rapid City, South Dakota, died on Friday, December 1, 2017, in Rapid City.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, at the United Methodist Church in Wall.

Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Chapel of Wall.

James Michael “Jimmy Mike” Clark was born October 8, 1954, the second child of James Edward and Eleanor (Rowen) Clark. He grew up in Wall, and received his education in Wall, graduating from Wall High School in 1972. During his school years, he enjoyed band, and sports. After graduation he worked various jobs including the Homestake Gold Mine.

In the late 70’s, he went to meat cutting school in Minnesota, to help at the family business. Upon completion, he returned to Wall and became actively employed in the family business, Clark’s Food Center.

Jimmy Mike was united in marriage to Marsha Lytle in April of 1980, and enjoyed several years together. During that time, he played softball for the Cactus Cafe Green Machine, and active in the Wall Fire Department for many years. He remained in Wall until the family business sold in 1997. Soon after, he worked at the Badlands Bar, until moving to Rapid City in 2010. Recently Jimmy Mike had been working for the School of Mines and Technology, where he really enjoyed visiting the students.

Survivors include his brother Tom Clark of Pahoa, Hawaii; a half-sister Valerie Sump of Newton, Kansas; two nieces; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jimmy Mike was preceded in death by his father James “Jimmie” Clark in 1990; his mother Eleanor Clark in 2010; his sister Janette Fraser in 1992; a nephew Kevin Fraser; and a great-niece in infancy.
