Fentanyl-Manslaughter Sentence
Man charged in connection with fentanyl death sentenced to prison

SPEARFISH, S.D. - A 45-year-old Spearfish man was sentenced to prison Tuesday for distributing fentanyl that led to the death of a Spearfish woman.

Duwayne Eric Littlebear was charged with Second Degree Manslaughter and Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

Carrera Hall died on January 21 of 2017 from a fentanyl overdose.

Littlebear had pled guilty to the charges against him in February. He was sentenced to ten years in prison on the manslaughter charge and 10 years in prison for the distribution charge. The sentences will run concurrently.

Eric Reeder has also pled guilty to two counts of Second Degree Manslaughter for his role in supplying fentanyl to Hall as well as Troy Kuntz. Kuntz died on January 15 of 2017.

Reeder is scheduled to be sentenced in June. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
