- June 8, 2018

On June 3, 2018, Patricia L. Eastman, 77, Rapid City, passed away quietly surrounded by her family at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

On September 29, 1940, Addison and Genevieve Cavanaugh, along with her brother, Peter, welcomed Patti into the world.  Patti was the light of her parents' life.  Patti grew up in Van Nuys, CA, a happy carefree child.  She loved her animals, music and family.

On June 6, 1958, Patti married the first love of her life, Robert "Bob" Bettis.  Soon after, they began their family with a baby girl, Elizabeth, followed by Robert "Bobby," Patrice, and Jon.  In February 1993, her first husband, Bob, passed away due to an on-going illness.

In 1999, Patti was fortunate enough to meet the second love of her life by chance at the train station in Burbank, CA, Robert "Bob" Eastman.  On June 22, 2003, they married and enjoyed a fun and happy life together in Delaware.

In 2014, Bob and Patti relocated to Rapid City, SD, where she lived out her life enjoying her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and husband.

We, her family, have lost the most beautiful, loving, and caring wife, mother, grammie, and Gigi.  To know Patti was to love her.  Patti had the sweetest, most loving soul of anyone we will ever know.  Patti loved the Lord with all of her heart and it showed in how she lived her life.

Patti will be deeply missed by her family.  She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Eastman; 4 children, Elizabeth and husband, Jim King, Robert Bettis and wife, Liz Bettis, Patrice Holdren, and Jon Bettis; 9 grandchildren, Amber Milner, Julia Atterberry and husband, Antonio Atterberry, Brandon Nadelman, Eric Holdren and wife, Brandy Holdren, Jon Rasmussen, James Rasmussen and fiancé, Hannah Lind, Allison Bettis, Alexander Rasmussen, and Emily Bettis; 6 great-grandchildren, Iver Atterberry, Quinn Milner, Jamason Nadelman, Berkley Holdren, Echo Rasmussen, and Ezra Atterberry.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Spearfish with Pastor Jim Kack officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
