Murder Plea

Murder Plea
Pine Ridge woman pleads guilty to second degree murder
News Staff - November 7, 2017

RAPID CITY, S.D. - A guilty plea from a Pine Ridge woman charged with murder.

Elizabeth LeBeau, 25 of Pine Ridge pleaded guilty to second degree murder and accessory to second degree murder in federal court in Rapid City Monday.

The plea comes after LeBeau's original plea was thrown out by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Viken earlier this year after a conflict arose on who actually killed Emily Bluebird in January of last year in Pine Ridge.

In the amended factual basis statement that LeBeau signed, she said both Fred Quiver and herself killed Bluebird by strangling her.
The statement says LeBeau also struck Bluebird in the head with a hammer multiple times.

LeBeau also admits to helping Quiver cover up Bluebird's murder.
Originally LeBeau had said Quiver killed Bluebird and Quiver had said LeBeau killed her.

LeBeau will be sentenced at a later date.
