Semi-truck gets tangled in utility lines in Sturgis Thursday

Gary Matthews - July 11, 2019

STURGIS, S.D. - Some folks on the north side of Sturgis were without power for a short time Thursday after an accident involving a truck and power lines.

Sturgis Police Chief Geody VanDewater says a semi-truck was making a local delivery Thursday morning when his cab and trailer got caught up on low hanging power lines.

The lines were owned by both Vast Broadband and Black Hills Energy.

VanDewater says crews from both utility companies responded and were able to untangle the lines from the truck with minimal issues.

No injuries were reported.
