RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - The Wind River in central Wyoming is flooding mostly agricultural land in Fremont County.

Heavy rain in recent days has pushed the river, which is already running high with mountain snowmelt runoff, over its banks.

The National Weather Service says the river was more than a foot (30.5 centimeters) above flood stage Wednesday morning. The river crested about 2 feet (61 centimeters) above flood stage overnight.

The river is expected to remain above flood stage until midday Thursday.

Most of the flooding is occurring between Riverton and Boysen
