Terie Lee Roberts-Jacob, age 58, passed away on August 3, 2018 at Rapid City Regional Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on September 17, 1959 to Ray and Vanda Roberts in Rapid City, SD, where she lived most of her life. She attended grade school at Robbinsdale Elementary and middle school at South Junior High. She was a graduate from Rapid City Central in the last graduating class of the old high school in 1977.  She married Kenny Jacob on November 17, 1990.  In their early years of marriage Kenny and Terie loved to camp and spend time in the Black Hills together. They also attended the Sturgis rally and Friday nights at the racetrack.

When she was young, Terie developed a love for flowers and gardening. She enjoyed her time working at Jolly Lane Greenhouse. She also loved children and worked as a child care provider for many years. She was later employed by the Rapid City School District where she worked in several roles. She retired as a paraprofessional in the alternative education program in the spring of 2018.  Terie was very passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of her challenging students and she touched the hearts of many.

She also had a great love for animals, especially her dogs. One very beloved dog was her Great Dane, Romi. Anyone who knew Terie knew that Romi was her favorite sidekick and closest companion. She also cherished her time with her three children, her grandchildren and her special nieces and nephews.

Terie was preceded in death by one brother, “Little Ray” Roberts; and her grandparents, Eva Roberts, Francis and Morris Slagle, and Grace Abraham.

Surviving family members include her parents, Ray and Vanda Roberts; her spouse, Kenny Jacob; three children, Jennifer (Chad) Widdoss, Luke (Kayleigh) Jacob, Jackie (Seth) Jacob; one brother, Troy (Misty) Roberts; two sisters, Tammy (Ralph) Langenbau and Tina (Pat) Freeman; four grandchildren, Jasmine, Cole, Logan and Keano; as well as extended family and special friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 1410 Centre St., Rapid City, SD.
