Sturgis Home Invasion-Court Appearance

Two men involved in Sturgis home invasion change their plea

News Staff - April 12, 2018

STURGIS, SD - Two of the three men who were arrested for a violent home invasion in Sturgis changed their pleas Wednesday.

Armando Valdivia and Moses Avila all pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to commit first degree burglary and identity theft after reaching an agreement with the state.

They could face up to 15 years for the burglary charge and an additional two years for identity theft.

Azariah Conley is the third man involved in the invasion. He was also scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday.

A woman who waited outside during the burglary previously pleaded guilty to her role in the crime.

Valdivia and Avila will be sentenced at the end of May.

All three men are expected in Lawrence County Court Thursday on separate charges.
