RAPID CITY, SD – Two country music talents and women of faith have formed a partnership to bring a nationally offered program to Rapid City, SD during the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo. Produced by country and Christian artist Susie McEntire, the Pamper Me Conference is an uplifting event for women, says co-presenter Keenie Word, Hermosa, SD.
“It’s an event Susie started in her hometown," shares Keenie. “We were visiting one day and I told her that many people would love to go to an event like that but a lot of women can’t afford to fly off for a weekend." She adds, “So my question to Susie was can we take the concept and travel with it?"
The answer was a resounding “yes" from McEntire who developed the concept 11 years ago and will offer the first traveling Pamper Me Conference in Rapid City in 2017.
The two women share a background of growing up country. Keenie was born into a rich ranching and rodeo heritage and along with life on the ranch, she discovered that she has a passion for music. She has performed across the country, opening for big-name acts and has recorded two albums. Susie, a sister to Reba McEntire, has been a performer all her life. She has directed her talents to the country gospel side of American roots music garnering much acclaim from her peers and fans alike.
“We’ll both be addressing different age groups," says Keenie. “For my part, I’ll be talking with younger women at the conference about how challenging it is out there in the real world, to stay focused on a faith-based message – for yourself and those around you."
During Stock Show Week, women ages 16 and older can take in the Pamper Me Conference on February 4, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church in Rapid City. Pre-registration is available on line. Keenie describes the day as full of inspiration, testimonies, music, shopping and – of course – pampering.
“We’ll have boutiques, hair styling and other services, along with great music and speakers, says Keenie. “It’s a day to uplift from the inside and outside," shares the young recording artist. McEntire agrees noting the experiences that women share in the Pamper Me program in Limestone Gap, OK, continue every year as they return to reconnect and share their own stories of personal growth.
