RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Rapid City Rush hockey team dropped their season finale Saturday night to the Colorado Eagles 3-1.
The loss ends the Rush season with a record of 26-38-8-0 and out of the playoffs with just 60 points.
Rush coach Mark DeSantis had hoped to win the final game of the season in front of a great home crowd at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center's Ice Arena.
Colorado, however, had different ideas.
Colorado scored just 1:08 into the game on a goal by Jackson Houck.
The Rush had plenty of chances in the second period, hoping to capitalize on some Colorado penalties. The Rush finally put in a score at the 17:51 mark of the the second period.
Colorado, however, would score another goal before the end of the second and added the insurance goal in the third.
