STURGIS, S.D. - Brookings swept Sturgis in a Thursday night baseball double-header.
In game one, Chris Lerdal struck out nine and went 1 for 4 as Brookings beat Sturgis 3-1. Jacob Devine and Parker Beers also scored runs for the Bobcats.
One of the Bobcat runs came off a Scooper throwing error in the fourth inning. Starting pitcher Tristen Walter threw 86 pitches and struck out 3.
The Scoopers lone run came in the fourth courtesy of Caleb Bates.
In the second game, Brookings dominated in a 10-0 rout.
Drew Cole pitched the shut-out for the Bobcats with six strike-outs and just one walk.
