STURGIS, S.D. - The Sturgis Scooper baseball team will head to next weekend's regionals on a high note after wrapping up the regular season with a 5-4 win over Aberdeen Central Friday night.

Starting pitcher Tristen Walter gets the win, throwing 93 pitches and six strikeouts through five innings of work. Josh West gets the save.

Manny Gallosa helped lead Sturgis with 2 doubles, an R.B.I. and a run.

Jarrett Keffeler went 2 for 4, scoring a run, Nick Anderson scored a run, and Alec Keffeler and Josh West each added an R.B.I.

Daniel Walter came up big for the Scoopers - hitting a double that put the Scoopers up for good in the 6th inning.

Matt Trenhaile takes the loss for Aberdeen, giving up 3 hits and striking out one.

Up next for the Scoopers is regional competition in Pierre next weekend. The Scoopers scheduled game against Belle Fourche Saturday got cancelled. It would have been their official regular season-ender.
