Rapid City Christian boys, New Underwood girls win at Western Great Plains Conference track and field

UNDATED - Rapid City Christian won the boys title and New Underwood girls' won team titles at the Western Great Plains Conference Track and Field Meet Friday.

The Comets finished with a team score of 131 points. Stanley County finished in second and Philip was third.

The Tigers won the team title with a score of 166. Rapid City Christian was second and Wall was third.

Leading the way individually, Wall's Allan McDonnell was triple-event winner for the boys and Cerington Jones and Brianna Philipsen of New Underwood were triple-event winners for the girls.

McDonnell won the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Jones won the 100-meters, 200-meters and the long jump. Philipsen won the 400-meters, 100-meter hurdles and the high jump. 

There were a number of double-event winners.

Christian's Tim Ward won the 200 and 400-meters, Cooper West of Philip won the 800-meters and pole vault, Parker Wollman of Rapid City Christian won the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, Levi VandenBos of Christian won the 1,600 and 3,200-meters and Damon Hoftiezer of Stanley County won the shot put and discus throw.

Kyla Sawvell of Wall was the girls' double-event winner, taking first in the shot put and discus throw.
