SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Law enforcement and Healthcare professional have announced a new anonymous texting program to encourage more South Dakotans to give tips about drug crimes.

South Dakota Attorney General announced the program Thursday.

The program is called Project Stand Up. Jackley says you text the word 'drugs' to 82257 to give your anonymous tip. You may be asked questions for more information, but your identity will not be revealed.

Jackley says  “As our nation faces a growing drug epidemic, it is important that South Dakotans use innovation and technology to better protect our communities. Anonymous texting allows citizens to be proactive and take part in keeping their communities safe."

Sanford Health is also part of the new initiative.

Sanford Health spokesman Mike Begeman says"Sanford Health is proud to join with SD law enforcement on this important program to help keep our SD communities safe.”
