State golf wraps up Tuesday

UNDATED - The South Dakota High School Activities Association's State Girls AA, A and B; as well as the State B Boys Golf Tournaments wrapped up Tuesday.

In Class AA, Sioux Falls O'Gorman brought home the team title with a team score of 611. Aberdeen Central finished in second and Rapid City Stevens brought home third. Douglas brought home 12th. Sturgis did not finish in the top 15.

Emily Olson of O'Gorman brought home individual medalist honors with a 2-day score of 146. Her teammate, Carly Kunkel, finished in second and Natalie Young of Rapid City Stevens finished in a two-way tie with Sydney Wirebaugh of Aberdeen Central for third.

At the Class A Girls tournament, Canton won the team title with a 724. Lennox was second, Vermillion third and Lead-Deadwood came in fourth. Hot Springs finished tied for night place with Sioux Falls Christian.

Winning the player championship was Kate Wynja of Sioux Falls Christian. Her two day score of 156 gave her the edge. Jade Burr of Belle Fourche came in second, tied with Lauryn Driscoll of West Central. Taylor Beagle of Lead-Deadwood and Alex Kandolin of St Thomas More finished tied for fourth.

At the Class B Girls Championship, Deubrook Area won the team title with Burke/South Central in second and Hill City in third. Courtni Frank of Deubrook brought home first place with Josie Rush of Philip capturing sixth place.

And at Class B Boys, Aberdeen Christian won the team title with Ipswich coming in second. Winning the individual title was Alex Johnson of Bon Homme with Judah Aberhold of Aberdeen Christian claiming second.
