South Dakota-Rodeo Finals
South Dakota High School Rodeo Finals continue in Belle Fourche

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. - South Dakota's best rodeo athletes are competing at the state high school rodeo finals, hoping for a chance to move on to the National Finals in July.

In bareback riding, Colt Hokana looks to be on his way to defending his 2016 championship, following a 68-point ride Friday. He remained solidly in first place.

Jill Donnelly of Elk Point and Sydney Maher of Timber Lake lead the barrel racing and Sawyer Gilbert of Buffalo sits atop the breakaway roping leader board.

Lyle Dillon of Allen is leading the bull riding, with Hunter Johnson of Kadoka sitting in second.

Myles Kenzy of Iona is atop the leader board in boy's cutting and a pair of athletes from Martin lead the goat tying. They are Karissa Rayhill and Mary Risse. Wall's Emily Pauley sits in third.

In the girl's cutting, Kailyn Groves of Faith is in first with Ciarra Stoddard of Norris in second and Emilee Pauley of Wall is in third.

Shayla Howell of Belle Fourche is in second in the pole bending and Wacey Brown of Piedmont is sitting in fourth.

Myles Kenzy leads the pack in reined cow horse with Wall's Pauley sitting in fourth.

Dylan Schofield had a great Friday ride in the saddle bronc and leads the pack. Wall's Cash Wilson is sitting in second. Lane Schuelke of Newell is third.

Trig Olson of Prairie City is second in the steer wrestling. Long  Valley's Carson Good is the leader.

In the tiedown, Kenzy leads with Cord Roberts of Rapid City in second. Winston Brown of Sturgis/Piedmont is fourth.
