UNDATED - For the week ending Sunday, scattered rain and cooler temperatures brought relief to some areas of the State, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Row crop conditions showed some improvement, but the effects of the drought were still being felt. There were 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 32 percent very short, 41 short, 27 adequate, and 0 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 37 percent very short, 40 short, 23 adequate, and 0 surplus.

Winter wheat harvested was 92 percent, near 91 last year, and ahead of 80 for the five-year average.

Spring wheat mature was 93 percent. Harvested was 65 percent, behind 70 last year, but well ahead of 45 average.

Oats mature was 92 percent. Harvested was 63 percent, well behind 86 last year, and behind 71 average.

Barley condition rated 53 percent very poor, 28 poor, 19 fair, 0 good, and 0 excellent. Barley coloring was 96 percent, ahead of 91 last year and 86 average. Mature was 72 percent, ahead of 56 last year. Harvested was 19 percent, well behind 48 last year.

Corn condition rated 11 percent very poor, 25 poor, 35 fair, 28 good, and 1 excellent. Corn silking was 92 percent, equal to both last year and average. Dough was 32 percent, behind 43 last year, and near 33 average. Dented was 1 percent, near 3 last year and 2 average.

Soybean condition rated 9 percent very poor, 20 poor, 39 fair, 29 good, and 3 excellent. Soybeans blooming was 92 percent, near 93 last year and 91 average. Setting pods was 64 percent, behind 76 last year, but near 62 average.

Sorghum condition rated 18 percent very poor, 27 poor, 48 fair, 7 good, and 0 excellent. Sorghum headed was 48 percent, well behind 78 last year and 74 average. Coloring was 9 percent, behind 16 last year, and near 11 average.

Sunflower condition rated 10 percent very poor, 27 poor, 53 fair, 10 good, and 0 excellent. Sunflowers blooming was 38 percent, behind 53 last year, and near 41 average.

Alfalfa condition rated 49 percent very poor, 30 poor, 14 fair, 7 good, and 0 excellent. Alfalfa second cutting was 56 percent complete, behind 70 last year, and well behind 78 average. Third cutting was 22 percent, near 21 last year.

Pasture and range condition rated 35 percent very poor, 32 poor, 23 fair, 10 good, and 0 excellent.

Stock water supplies rated 22 percent very short, 33 short, 44 adequate, and 1 surplus.
