Psychiatric evaluation set for woman charged with murder
Gary Matthews - September 13, 2017

STURGIS, S.D. - A Mile City woman accused of killing a woman in her Summerset home will get a psychiatric evaluation.

The defense attorney for Stormy Marsh requested the exam, and was granted permission by a judge this week.

Marsh is accused of second degree murder in the death of Phyllis Mastin in August. Mastin was found dead by a roommate in her Summerset mobile home.

Defense Attorney Randy Connelly says he has obtained confidential information that raised his concerns about the psychiatrict state of his client during the alleged crime.

According to court documents, Marsh told police Mastin was alive when she left the mobile home after witnessing a fight between the victim and her ex-boyfriend.

Marsh remains detained in the Meade County jail. She is due back in court November 6. The judge has not yet set a date for the evaluation.
