Diana Lynn Fast, 48, of Nemo, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 in Rapid City, South Dakota.

She was born on February 13, 1969, to David and Jacqueline (Morrison) Fast in Dayton, Ohio.

Diana was a strong willed woman who never backed down from a challenge, the term “Give Up” was not in her vocabulary.  She persevered through the many challenges that life threw at her.  Diana had big dreams and she worked hard to achieve them.  One of those dreams was to travel the world.  She joined the US Air Force in 1994 and that enabled her to travel.  Germany, Paris, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai are some of the places that Diana was able to explore.

While stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base she fell in love with South Dakota and that is where she caught the Harley bug.  Through her service in the military and her Harley she made an abundance of friends.

On April 11, 2003, Diana was fortunate enough to welcome her sons, Sam, Dylan, and Gabe into the world.  Diana wanted the boys to experience everything that they could, so they were always off on some sort of adventure or trip somewhere.

She retired from the Wyoming Air National Guard on December 3, 2016.  In January 2017, she accepted a position at the Boxelder Job Corp Center in Nemo, South Dakota.

Diana leaves behind her three sons, Sam Davenport, Dylan Davenport, and Gabe Davenport; mother, Jacqueline Fast; father, David Fast; sister, Robin Fast; and maternal grandmother, Jean Bowers.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Ima Jean Fast.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:30 am, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis.  Graveside services will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at 12:00pm.  Military honors will be conducted by the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard.  A luncheon will be held at Harry’s Spaghetti Western Restaurant, 65 Sherman Street in Deadwood following the committal service.

Friends and family may sign to her online guest register and leave written condolences at www.blackhillsfuneralhome.com.
