Veanna Marie (Feaster) Kymala, 79, of Spearfish, SD, passed away peacefully November 3, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Veanna was born January 10, 1938 to Agnes and Lynn Feaster in Newcastle, Wyoming, where she lived for the next 17 years. After high school, she married Larry Kymala and moved to Whitewood, South Dakota, they were blessed with four children, Doug, Sue, John and Sharline. In 1967, she graduated from Beauty School. The family moved to Spearfish, where she opened her first salon. She styled hair for the next 25 years and her skills were remarkable. In 1980, after receiving her degree in Drug and Alcohol Counseling, she went to work for Northern Hills Mental Health and Homestake Mining Company. She continued helping and supporting individuals long after she retired. This was her true calling. She was very proud of her sobriety, receiving her 43rd year medallion in August. Veanna enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and games, gardening but most of all being with her family and friends. She was loved by all that knew her and words alone cannot express how much this beautiful soul will be missed.

She is survived by one sister, Lorraine Cole of Longview, WA; two sons, Doug (Toni) Kymala of Whitewood and John (Gayle) Kymala of Spearfish; two daughters, Sue (Doug) Whitmire of San Francisco, CA and Shar Seiler of McIntosh, SD; and numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Bill, Ed, Jim and John and son-in-law, Rock Seiler.

Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 10 at the church with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.

Memorials have been established to benefit Black Hills State Newman Center construction fund. A special thanks to Interim Healthcare, Hospice of the Northern Hills and Darcy Dvorak for their kind care of Veanna.
