Ribbon Cutting announces 60th Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo
News Staff - January 5, 2018

RAPID CITY, SD -  The Central States Fair, Inc. will host a ribbon cutting and press social to mark the 60th Annual Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo®. The kick-off will be held at the James Kjerstad Event Center, Central States Fairgrounds, on Friday, January 12 at 3:00p.m.

"The Black Hills Stock Show started as a three day event in the Soule Building in 1959. Today's event is 22 event days, in multiple locations throughout Rapid City," said Ron Jeffries, Black Hills Stock Show General Manager. "Although the agriculture industry is the heart of the stock show, today's show includes ag business, entertainment, recreation and a great social setting."

To introduce the public and press to the new and exciting events along with celebrating the history of the event, the Black Hills Stock Show® ribbon cutting and press social will be held at the Central States Fairgrounds.

The Black Hills Stock Show® is South Dakota's second largest event and has an estimated economic impact of $21 million to the state's economy.

The ribbon cutting is open to the public. Organizers ask that attendees RSVP by contacting the Stock Show office.  Jeffries reminds show goers that while the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo officially gets underway Friday, January 26, 2018, "our pre-stock show events will begin at 8:00a.m. on Saturday, January 13.”
