Champion Red Angus Bull
Red Angus, Shorthorn and Gelbvieh highlight Thursday at Stock Show

RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Red Angus, Gelbvieh and Shorthorn cattle sales were held Thursday at the Black Hills Stock Show.

At the Red Angus sale, 34 bulls sold for an average of $3,868 for a total of $131,500. Nine heifers sold for a total of $46,950 at an average of $5,217.

The Grand Champion Red Angus heifer sold for $21,000. The champion Red Angus bull sold for $10,000. T.C. Feelgood 1506 was consigned by TC Reds. The champion heifer was Red Blair's Bonita 612D. Top selling bull was Webr Rolling Deep 660, selling for $10,000.

At the Gelbvieh sale, a total of 16 bulls sold for $63,750 at an average of $3,984. A total of 10 females sold for $28,100 at an average of $2,810.  The champion Gelbvieh bull was VLK D643 ET, selling for $4,500, and consigned by Volek Ranch. The top selling Gelbvieh sold for $7,000. It was BABR 6307D. Top selling heifer sold for $4,000. She was BEA 5102D.

At the Shorthorn sale, seven bulls sold for a total of $19,150 at an average of $2,736. Eight heifers sold for $17,950 at an average of $2,473. Champion Shorthorn bull, WR 62W Red Line 656, sold for $4,250 and was consigned by Warner Ranch. Top selling Shorthorn bull sold for $5,500. Top selling heifer sold for $2,600.
