News Staff - March 20, 2018

STURGIS, S.D. - A Colorado teen has pleaded guilty to her role in a burglary and assault on a 53-year-old Sturgis woman.

Elizabeth Mauk, age 18, pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to commit burglary in the November 2017 incident.

Mauk, who is from Fort Collins, faces up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine. Her plea agreement includes 10 years suspended and 180 days with credit for time served.

Azariah Job Conley, 18, of Sturgis; 19-year-old Moses Isai Avilia and 18-year-old Armando Louis Valdivia, both of Fort Collins, are accused of assaulting the woman while trying to steal drugs or money from the victim’s son. They are charged with aggravated kidnapping, burglary, aggravated assault and identity theft.

The three men were also in court Monday where their cases were severed. They will now be tried separately, with the first trial starting in May.
