Scoopers roll over St Thomas More in Thursday night baseball

STURGIS, S.D. - Playing their third game in three nights, the Sturgis Scoopers rolled over St Thomas More in Thursday Night Baseball.

Starting pitcher Josh West fanned four batters and allowed only one run on three hits in five innings of work.

Sturgis led 7-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth innings - anda pitching change for St Thomas More resulted in 4 wild pitches that brought in four runs to put the game away.

Nick Anderson had another solid game for Sturgis going 3 for 4, with an R.B.I. and scoring 2 runs. Brian Duran scored 2 runs and Alex Keffeler went 2 for 2 for the Scoopers.

Andy Smith allowed 8 hits and 7 runs in four innings of work for St Thomas More.

Sturgis was scheduled to play at Huron this weekend, but the games were cancelled due to the weather. Sturgis will host Gillette in a double-header on Tuesday.
