Bonnie Buls, age 74, of Philip, South Dakota died Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Philip Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Masonic Cemetery in Philip.

The family invites you to join them for coffee at Rush Funeral Home following the service.

Bonnie Kaye Buls, born Linda Lee Pastian on April 26, 1944, in Mobridge SD, was adopted by Clarence Emil Otto Johan Buls and Edna Louise Caroline (Mundt) Buls when she was six months old. Bonnie grew up with her brother William "Bill" Buls on their family farm/ranch in the Grindstone community northwest of Philip, SD. Bonnie graduated from Philip High School in 1963 and attended the National College of Business, Rapid City, SD, from 1969 to 1972 where she studied to be a computer key punch operator.

As an adult she worked and lived with her parents. After her father's death in 1986, she and her mother continued to live on the farm/ranch until moving into Philip in 1991. During the time she lived in Philip, Bonnie worked at D.J.'s Café and at the Philip Nursing Home as a Nurses Aide. Bonnie has resided at the Philip Nursing Home since 2014.

During her life Bonnie enjoyed John Wayne movies, followed professional wrestling, and collected all manner of things from books to watches. She played the accordion, embroidered, and loved to read. A lover of cats and puppies, Bonnie was generous to a fault, particularly with her nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Bill Buls, and a sister-in-law Shirley Ann (Johnson) Buls. Bonnie will be buried in the Masonic Cemetery, Philip SD, next to her parents.

She is survived by two nieces Becky (Ryan) Richmond of Lakeland, FL, and Barbra "Bobby" (Dick Corzine) Buls of Omaha, NE; two nephews William "Ben" (Sabrina) Buls of Philip, SD, and Wyatt "Brad" (Liz) Buls of Omaha, NE; seven great-nieces and nephews; three great-great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside committal service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the Masonic Cemetery, Philip, SD, with Pastor Kathy Chesney officiating.
