Area athletes get last chance to make state tournament at Last Chance Track and Field Meet

STURGIS, S.D. - Area athletes competed at the annual Last Chance Track and Field Meet in Sturgis on Tuesday.
Hannah Young of Rapid City Central captured the 100, 200 and 400-meters for the girls. Kylee Bennett of Sturgis won the 800-meters, Alissa Wieman of Douglas won the 1,600-meters and Alyssa ranke of Stevens took first in the 3,200-meters.
Elizabeth Schaefer of Stevens won the 300-meter hurdles and her teammate Jersi Dadah won the 100-meters. Schaefer did not compete in the 100.
In the girls team events, Central won the 4x100 and the 4x400. Stevens won the 4x200 and Sturgis captured the 4x800.
Cora Tobin of Spearfish won the shot put, Savannah Perez of Stevens placed first in the discus, Halle Rogers of Spearfish won the high jump, Madisyn Truppe of Stevens won the pole vault and Sarah Keen of Stevens won the long jump.

On the boys side, Sage Hagen won the 100 and 200 meters, Tavian Ashurst of Spearfish won the 400-meters, Ethan Brenneman of Sturgis claimed the 800-meters, Jackson Wilson of Douglas won the 1,600-meters and Anders Enevoldsen of Stevens won the 3,200-meters.
Gavin West of Sturgis swept the 110 and 300-meter hurdles.
In team competition, Central won the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x-400 relays.
In field events, Jacob Lindenberg of Central won the shot put and discus, and his teammate Dylan Hay won the high jump and pole vault.
Kaileb Walton-Blanden of Central won the long jump and Carter Nesland of Stevens won the triple jump.
