Bucks hire new coach

Bucks hire new coach
Bucks officially announce hiring of coach Mike Budenholzer
The Associated Press - May 18, 2018

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks have officially announced the hiring of Mike Budenholzer as their new head coach.

The 48-year-old Budenholzer went 213-197 in five seasons with Atlanta before leaving last month. He led the Hawks to the 2015 Eastern Conference finals, but parted company with the team after going 24-58 this season.

Budenholzer replaces Joe Prunty, the former assistant who went 21-16 in the regular season after replacing the fired Jason Kidd in late January.

Before choosing Budenholzer, the Bucks also considered Rapid City native Becky Hammon, who is currently serving as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs.

If she had been hired, Hammon would have been the first female NBA Coach in history.
