Loretta was born August 9, 1930, to Gordon Arthur and Nellie Beatrice (Vaughan) Nowlin at Boggy Creek, Manitoba, Canada.  She was married to Leonard Hahne May 19, 1949, and they raised 12 children:  Lyle, Daryl (Donna), Larry (Terry), Anne Mary, Evelyn (Bill), Randy (Hazel), Neil (Wanda), Nancy (Brady), Estella (Mike), Cheryl (Larry), Allen (Tanya), and Jim.  Loretta married Jerold O’Donnell January 21, 1991.

She was not afraid of hard work.  She worked on the family farm/ranch and held many other jobs.

Loretta loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a wonderful mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma.  She was loved.  She tried to make sure she sent birthday cards and Christmas cards to each and every one of her relatives.  She loved to cook for all who came to visit.  Loretta loved holding babies who seemed to fall asleep on her belly every time.  She loved when her family and friends visited her.  She enjoyed playing cards, Farkle, and Rummy Cube.  Loretta also enjoyed western movies.

She had a sense about her that made everyone feel unconditionally loved.  You could just be in her presence and feel it.  She had individual connections with each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild, and even for the little time she had with her great-great-grandchild.  She loved her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and their families, and all her friends.  She was a very special person for so, so, so many in so, so many ways.  The family apologizes if your name isn’t mentioned.  Just know, if you knew her, she loved you.

Loretta was truly God’s blessing.  She would pray the Rosary, read her Book of Prayers, and read the Bible.  She had an angel taking care of her the last year of her life; her loving daughter, Cheryl.
