SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Freidel brothers were too much for the Cavaliers as Tea Area jumped out quick on St Thomas More Thursday, and never looked back, cruising to a 60-43 win in first round action at the Boys Class A State Basketball Tournament.
Tea led 19-11 at the end of one, but only led by seven at the half. Tea would outscore the Cavaliers 13-10 in the third quarter and pull away 18-11 in the fourth.
Tea was led by Noah Freidel's 24 points. Ethan Freidel added 21 points.
St Thomas More was led by Tayton Maher's 16 points.
In other action Thursday, Tri-Valley beat Chamberlain 59-47, Sioux Falls Christian rolled over Mt Vernon/Plankinton 72-44 and Madison beat Dakota Valley 56-47.
St Thomas More will play in the consolation semi-finals Friday against Chamberlain at 1:45 p.m. CT.
