|Harrisburg edges Rapid City Central in AA Semifinals

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Harrisburg used a 19-12 3rd quarter run to pull ahead of Rapid City Central -- and then hung on down the stretch to win 49-44 in the Girls Class AA State Basketball Tournament Semifinals.
Central led 20-17 at halftime, but saw Harrisburg go on a run in the third quarter to take a lead they would not relinquish.
The Tigers, who are the top seed in the tournament, were led by Syndey Halling's 27 points. Halling finished 8 of 15 shooting, including 3 three-pointers. She also grabbed 8 defensive rebounds.
Madison Sullivan led Central with 11 points.
Central shot better from the floor, 36.4-percent to 29.8-percent, but the Cobblers missed some key free-throws in the second half. Central was 7-13 from the free throw line. Harrisburg made 17 of 25. The Cobblers also had 12 turnovers compared to just 6 for the Tigers.
Harrisburg plays in the Class AA Championship game Saturday night. Central will play for third.
