State championships set in Class AA, A and B Boys

UNDATED - After Friday night's semfinal games, the championship games are set for the Boys Class AA, A and B State Tournaments Saturday night.

The Class AA tournament has not disappointed this year. Aberdeen Central and Pierre got involved in a shoot out down the stretch as each team exchanged 3-pointers in the final minute.

Aberdeen Central led by double-digits at one point, but the Golden Eagles came storm back to close within 3 points in the fouth quarter.

Aberdeen Central was able to hold on down the stretch and squeek out a 58-52 win. Christian Goetz led Aberdeen Central with 13 points but it may have been Cole Bergen's 3-pointer down the stretch that sealed it for the Golden Eagles.

Aberdeen Central, who came into the tournament a 7th seed, will play Sioux Falls O'Gorman for the title Saturday night.

The Knights earn a trip to the championship game courtesy of a 66-44 win over Sioux Falls Lincoln.

In Class A, the Madison Bulldogs will play Tea Area for the championship. Madison punched their ticket to the championship with a 50-39 victory of Sioux Falls Christian.

Tea Area defeated Tri Valley 60-47 to earn their trip to the championship game.

At the Class B Tournament, heavily favored Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan will play Wolsey-Wessington for the title.

Bridgewater heads into the championship game courtesy of Friday night;s victory over Sully Buttes. It wasn't easy -- Bridgewater needed every ounce of offense they could muster to come away with a 61-58 victory.

Wolsey-Wessington defeated Parker to earn a trip to the title game 58-42.
