Lawrence A. Sullivan

Lawrence A. Sullivan, 72, of Deadwood, SD, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home.
Lawrence Allan Sullivan was born October 3, 1951 to John L. and Donna J. (Johnson) Sullivan at Sutherland, Nebraska.  Larry grew up on a farm near Wallace, NE, graduating from Wallace High School in 1969.  He then attended college for a couple years, before joining the Army.  After his honorable discharge, he farmed with his family for two years.  Larry married Pamela Parker on December 1, 1973.  Larry worked various jobs in Nebraska, before moving his family to the Black Hills of South Dakota, settling in Deadwood in 1992.  He worked in gaming as a black jack dealer and was a jack of all trades. He is best known as being a character in Deadwood.  One of his favorite jobs was being active with the re-enactments on Deadwood Main Street.
Larry was always known to have a video camera or camera with him to record memories.  He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Knights of Colombus, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Master Mason.  He enjoyed attending Mountain Man Rendezvous.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, John L. Sullivan; grandparents, Ed & Genevieve Sullivan and Ruben & Hannah Johnson.
He is survived by his mother, Donna; wife, Pamela Sullivan; sons, Bryan (Katy) Sullivan, James (Mary) Sullivan; daughters, Rebecca Sullivan, Mary Ann (Brian) Stenbak; brothers, Mike (Terri) Sullivan, Doug (Michelle) Sullivan; sisters, Joyce (Steve) Tarris, Cynthia (Bob) Wusk; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation for Larry will be from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, December 11, with a Wake Service at 6:00 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deadwood.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 12, also at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.  Interment, with military honors, will be at 1:00 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Deadwood, SD.
