UNDATED – Fire crews battled several wildfires on Friday.
Piedmont Fire crews were among those responding to a blaze in the Little Elk Creek Canyon area. The fire was small in size, but was in a remote location, requiring crews to hike in and battle it.
Smoke from the fire could be seen from I-90.
Another fire, labeled the Round Fire, had burned a couple of acres in Custer County. The fire was reported Friday evening and was burning approximately 4 miles northwest of Custer.
Two other fires, the Flyway Fire and the Two Tree Fire, were listed as contained and controlled respectively. The Flyway Fire burned 2.4 acres southwest of Hot Springs while the Two Tree Fire burned a tenth of an acre southwest of Edgemont.
