High speed chase with motorcycle ends with crash in Black Hawk

SUMMERSET, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office and Summerset law enforcement were involved in a chase involving a Harley Davidson motorcycle Friday.

The Summerset Police Department tried to stop the motorcycle for going 70 mph in a 45 mph zone, but the motorcycle wouldn’t stop.

As the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Meade County Sheriff’ Office were notified, the motorcyclist went down Anderson Road before disappearing into Heritage Trailer Court in Black Hawk.

Authorities say he crashed the motorcycle between two trees and fled the area on foot.

Law Enforcement were still searching for him Friday night.

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says the motorcycle was impounded.
