STURGIS, S.D. – the 28th Annual Sturgis Festival of Trees was held Friday night at First Interstate Bank.

The annual event is a fundraiser for the Sturgis Greater Area Foundation and the Hospice of the Northern Hills. The Foundation helps many non-profit organizations in the area.

Early estimates from last night’s auction are in excess of $45,000.

A 10$ entry fee at the door also raised money for the Sturgis Kiawanis.

Among the items this year were trees, wreaths, decor, and beautiful quilts.

Long time organizer Rosemary Roth took time to honor two Sturgis supporters of the event who passed away this year. They are Bob Davis and Dr. George Jenter.
