Black Hawk area home damaged in early morning fire

BLACK HAWK, S.D. – The Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, responded to a reported structure fire in the 5800 block of Rocky Top Drive, early Monday morning.

First arriving Firefighters just after 2:00 a.m. found a fire burning with moderate smoke condition, in the utility and adjacent rooms of the residential structure.

Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the structure of origin.

No injuries to civilians, firefighters, or domestic animals were reported.

The residential structure received moderate damage, firefighters struck a second alarm for additional water supply resources to bring the fire under control.

Cause of the fire was under investigation.

Agencies responding were Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, North Haines Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid City Fire Department, Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Pennington County 911, Doty Volunteer Fire Department, Whispering Pines Volunteer Fire Department, Meade County Highway Department, Meade County Sheriff’s Office, Meade County Emergency Management, Montana Dakota Utilities, Black Hills Energy and the Red Cross Serving Central and Western South Dakota.
