Citizen of Year, Parade Marshalls honored at Faith Stock Show

F.Ganje - August 8, 2019

FAITH, SD – The heartbeat of any community is the countless people who give of their time and support to improve the life experience for all who call a place home.

No where is that more evident than in Faith, SD where every year, residents who have made a difference in a variety of ways are recognized during the Faith Stock Show & Rodeo.

For this 109th celebration underway now, the community has come together to honor three individuals.  This year’s Citizen of the Year is Lee Ann Trainor. Parade Marshall’s are Gloria Traversie and Mona Williams.

Parade organizer Angel Kennedy, says there are special people in the Faith community, who quietly go about helping the community be its best self - people like Gloria and Mona.

“Both Gloria and Mona have raised their families in Faith and now their grandkids are growing up here too,” says Kennedy.  “Lending a helping hand and support for everybody are things they are known for.” She adds, “They are wonderful ladies, kind-hearted and looked up to in our community.”

The nomination for Faith Citizen of the Year characterized Lee Ann Trainor as a ‘blessing to the community.’ As a long-time child care provider, Lee Ann is known for helping to raise many of the kids in the community whose parents head off to work every day, providing a safe place for the community’s most valued asset – its children.

The popular two-day parade with the theme of “Rockin’ & Rollin’ on the Prairie,” is set for Sat., August 10th and Sun., August 11th beginning at 10am both days.  See more on the Faith Stock Show and Rodeo on line at www.faithsd.com and on Facebook.
