Clarice Ellen Harper, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 in Belle Fourche.

She was born in Deadwood, SD on September 22, 1950 to Loyal Lee and Enid (Lickingteller) Alexander.  She grew up in the Vale area and graduated from high school in Newell.  Clarice married Pete Bossert in 1968 and to this union four children, Rose, Loyal, Tina, and Janet were born.  While raising her children Clarice attended nursing school.  After finishing nursing school she worked at the Belle Fourche Hospital.  Pete and Clarice divorced in 1980. 

Clarice decided to make a career change in 1992 and quit nursing.  She moved to Deadwood and that is where she met Thomas Harper.  They were married in September of 1998.  Clarice worked as a cook in a few restaurants, and she also worked in a feed lot.  She truly enjoyed the farm life that she and Tom had east of Vale.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Loyal Lee Alexander; husband, Thomas Harper; son, Loyal Lee Bossert; brother, Dale Alexander; and first husband, Pete Bossert.

Clarice is survived by her mother, Enid Crockford; daughters, Janet Bossert of Belle Fourche, Tina Martin of Rapid City, and Rose Guilliams; brothers, Don (Mary) Alexander and George (Nadine) Harr; sisters, Bernita (Jerry) Schuck, Betty Jones, and Leona Henseler; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the Vale Community Hall at 11 am, Saturday, January 25, 2020.
