PIERRE, S.D. – In their Wednesday report, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 57 new cases of COVID-19 and four new deaths.
The victims are in the following age ranges: 30-39, 50-59 and two in the 60-69 range. They were from Brown County, Todd County and two from Minnehaha County.
In the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 10 new positive tests. The county now has 134 active cases and 172 total, cumulative cases.
Other positive tests reported today include 13 in Beadle, 11 in Minnehaha, 4 in Roberts, 3 each in Oglala Lakota and Lincoln, 2 each in Brown and Todd and one each in Charles Mix, Codington, Davison, Day, Jerauld, Lyman, Stanley, Turner and Union.
There are 101 people hospitalized as of today, down 5 from yesterday.
The number of active cases is also down today to 1,037 from 1,075 Tuesday.
3,619 patients have recovered from COVID-19; that’s up 91 from Tuesday’s 3,528.
There have been 33,296 total negative tests in the state, up 911 from the previous day.
