Department of Health has no new COVID-19 cases in Sunday report

UNDATED – The South Dakota Department of Health reports another 24 hours with NO new cases of COVID-19.

The number of cases in the state remains at 9 as of Sunday with one death.

There have been 327 negative tests for COVID-19 and as of today, 6 tests are pending.

Positive cases have been reported in Beadle, Bon Homme, Charles Mix, Davison, McCook, and Minnehaha. Minnehaha has the most with 3.

All of those with positive COVID-19 results had been traveling.

The one death was a male from Pennington County who passed away in Davison County.

The male had underlying health conditions that may have contributed to his death.

The Department of Health continues to urge residents to practice good hygiene, washing your hands and making sure to stay home if you are sick.

Health officials encourage anyone who shows symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, to call their health care provider before going to the hospital or clinic. They can guide you on what to do next.
