Department of Health reports 37 new COVID-19 cases out of 567 new tests Monday

PIERRE, S.D. – There were 37 new cases of COVID-19 according to the state Department of Health Monday and there were no new deaths reported.

Of the new cases, five of them were reported in Pennington County. The number of active cases in Pennington is down one today to 144 and the cumulative total of cases is 725.

Also reporting a new case today was Lawrence County, sending their cumulative total to 23. However, the county reported a new recovery today, so the active number of cases remains at 3.

Oglala Lakota County had two new positive COVID-19 tests reported, and their active caseload is down three today to 24. The cumulative total in Oglala Lakota is 129.

Meade County reported no new cases today, keeping their cumulative total at 58 and their active number of cases at 5.

The statewide active caseload is down 7 today to 829. The number of people hospitalized is 65. That is up two from Sunday’s 63.

With no new deaths, the state’s total remained at 118.

The state announced 567 new tests on Monday.
