Department of Health reports 94 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 94 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, along with three new deaths.

The three new deaths were all women with two listed in the 60-69 age range and one in the 80+ age range. One death was listed in Yankton County, one in Todd County and one in Pennington County.

Pennington County saw another double-digit increase in new cases as 10 new positive tests were reported, sending the county’s cumulative total to 616. There are currently 151 active cases in Pennington, down four from yesterday.

Numbers remained the same in Meade County, with no new cases reported and 11 active.

Oglala Lakota County reported 5 new cases sending their cumulative total to 108 with 39 active cases.

Statewide, the number of active cases of COVID-19 is up 40 to 904. The number of people hospitalized is up seven today to 61.
