Fire crews in Rapid City respond to fire deemed suspicious

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City fire responded to a call on Saint Patrick Street Monday night.

Lt. Jim Bussell says it was a fire in an unoccupied home – the second such fire since Christmas.

He says last night’s fire, like the earlier one, is suspicious.

The latest fire was in a mobile home at 1515 E. Saint Patrick. He says crews were able to stop the forward progress of the fire, but had to remove some siding and skirting on the home to expose any hidden hot spots or flames.

He says investigators are looking into the fire. No injuries were reported.
