Health Department reports 33 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday; 9 in Pennington

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 33 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday and no new deaths.

Pennington County reported 9 new positive tests. The new cases raise the county’s cumulative total to 227 with 164 active cases.

Meade County reported one new case for a cumulative total of 19 and 13 active cases.

Oglala Lakota County also had an additional case for a cumulative total of 26 with 19 active cases.

Statewide, there are 1,094 active cases; up one from Saturday’s numbers.

The number of people in the hospital dropped seven today to 86.

The state says 3,837 people have recovered from the virus – up 32 from Saturday.
