Searchers prepare to search for Serenity Dennard Saturday.

Latest search for Serenity Dennard comes up empty

Gary Matthews - June 8, 2019

RAPID CITY, S.D. - A large scale search for a missing girl turned up no traces of her Saturday.

The latest search for Serenity Dennard involved well over 100 people split up into groups. Those groups walked arms length apart, searching for any sign of the girl who has been missing February 3 when she ran away from the Black Hills Children's Home near Rockerville.

Pennington County Sheriff Kevin Thom says they wanted to cover the most ground possible so they put in a request to the Ellsworth Air Force Base for volunteers, with nearly 80 airmen and women. Also helping today were the Box Elder Police Department, Weston County, Wyoming Search and Rescue, the Civil Air Patrol and Minnehah County Sheriff's Office.

Thom says they will meet again early next week to review this weekends activity and make a plan.

Furthermore, he says they will continue to investigate all leads and will not give up until "we bring Serenity home."
