Lynn Alexander Stuen

Lynn Alexander Stuen

- August 2, 2019

Lynn Alexander Stuen, age 46 of Newell, SD, passed away peacefully doing what he loved, on July 20, 2019 in an ATV accident.

Lynn was born to Wayne and Beverly (Voss) Stuen on October 28, 1972 in Rapid City. He grew up in Brownsville, SD and went to school in Lead/Deadwood. In 1995, he was engaged to Sandy Hammill of Newell, SD. They both worked side-by-side at Dunn Dairy of Vale, SD for 15 years. They were blessed with two boys, Kordell Alexander and Morgan Leroy. Lynn and Sandy were married on June 24, 2000. They lived in Vale until 2011, then moved to Newell and reside there. He worked for Tri-state Construction for 8 years. His final job was at Haliburton in Colony, Wyoming.

When he was young, he spent his time outside doing the things he loved; keeping the squirrel population down, fishing filling stringer after stringer of fish, and taking his great-grandma Blanche’s car for joy rides.

Lynn’s favorite things were, first and foremost, his family and friends. He loved all of his “peeps”. He loved hunting with his boys, fishing, snowmobiling, and let’s not forget camping. His favorite song was “Time of Your Life”, by Green Day.

Lynn will forever be the most loving, caring, and straight forward husband, father, and best friend any of us could have asked for. Lynn will be forever in our hearts and will be missed tremendously.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Sandy Hammill; sons, Kordell and Morgan from Newell, SD; daughters Elysha (Leif) Atkinson and Lacey (Chad) Schwindt, all of Belle Fourche, and four grandchildren. Parents, Wayne and Beverly Stuen of Spearfish; siblings, Keith Stuen (Whitney Walton) of Spearfish, and Jennifer Stuen (Kevin Scott) of Lead, SD; several nieces and nephews; great-grandmas, Norma Voss and Sally Stuen.

Lynn was preceded in death by grandpa Jim Voss and grandpa Tony Stuen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 31, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Spurs Bar in Nisland, SD. Cards can be sent to Sandy Hammill, PO Box 674, Newell, SD 57760.

Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Isburg Crematory of Spearfish. Online condolences may be written at www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com
